The Armenian Armed Forces have received new Osa-AK air-defense systems from Russia, according to an announcement by Armenian prime minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The statement from late December said the systems had been received recently and were inspected by the country’s defense minister David Tonoyan and armed forces chief Artak Davtyan.

The Osa-AK is a Soviet-designed mobile, surface-to-air missile system with a maximum engagement range of close to 10 kilometers. The vehicle that carries the radars and missile has a range of 500 kilometers.

In addition to Osa-AK systems, in late 2019 Armenia announced it received Su-30 SM fighter jets and an unspecified amount of TOR-M2KM air defense missile systems that are integrated onto KAMAZ-63501 all-terrain trucks.
