The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) has taken delivery of its first H225M helicopter in Singapore.

The first helicopter was delivered by Airbus Helicopters under a contract from 2016.

The H225M will be replacing the Super Pumas that have been in service with RSAF since the 1980s.

Singapore will use the new helicopters for search and rescue, aeromedical evacuation, as well as humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations.

“The RSAF has been a long-term partner of Airbus since its first Aerospatiale SA316B Alouette III entered into service more than 50 years ago. We appreciate the trust Singapore has placed in our helicopters, and we look forward to the H225Ms playing a critical role in the RSAF for many years to come,” Airbus Helicopters CEO Bruno Even said.

According to Airbus, the international H225M fleet has so far accumulated more than 143,000 flight hours. Current users include Brazil, France, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico and Thailand.
