A Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) KA-1 light attack aircraft crashed on December 26 with its two pilots ejecting before the crash.

According to the ROKAF, the close air support turboprop crashed some 140 kilometers east of Seoul, after taking off from an air base in the city of Wonju.

The pilots have been taken to hospital, while no damage to civilian property was reported.

Built by Korea Aerospace Industries, the locally-developed KA-1 is an airfield control aircraft developed based on the KT-1 trainer, equipped with external fuel tanks and added weapon systems.
