The US Air Force has awarded Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. a $127.4 million contract for the delivery of two C-37B aircraft.

C-37B is a military version of the Gulfstream 550 aircraft that provide world-wide airlift for senior leadership and dignitaries.

The air force also operates the C-37A, which is based upon the high-altitude, intercontinental Gulfstream V aircraft, capable of cruise operations from 41,000 to 51,000 feet.

The January 30 contract is the second one awarded to Gulfstream this week after the company received an $80.1 million contract modification to maintain, repair and rebuild the C-20 and C-37 aircraft for the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines and Coast Guard.

Gulstream is expected to deliver the two C-72B aircraft by September 2021.
