Lockheed Martin has received a $154.9 million contract for the delivery of its modernized target acquisition designation sight/pilot night vision sensor systems (M-TADS/PNVS) for Moroccan Apache helicopters.

According to a Pentagon contract announcement, Lockheed is scheduled to complete deliveries of the systems by August 2023.

The contract award for M-TADS/PNVS comes after the US State Department cleared Morocco’s purchase of 36 Boeing-built AH-64E Apache attack helicopters in November 2019.

Worth an estimated $4.25 billion, the deal included AGM-114R Hellfire missiles, advanced precision kill weapon system kits, AAR-57 common missile warning systems, and AIM-92H Stinger missiles.

The M-TADS/PNVS that is being delivered for the helicopters is a long-range, precision engagement and pilotage solution for day, night and adverse weather missions. An electro-optical sensor provides Apache aircrews enhanced situational awareness with greater performance and survivability.
