The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) has awarded Austria-based Schiebel a contract modification for the delivery of further AN-19/2 mine detecting sets.

The newest order calls for the delivery of a total of 900 units, in addition to the 1,700 already delivered under the initial contract from 2017.

Schiebel, a prominent developer of unmanned aerial systems for predominantly naval applications, said the AN-19/2 was one of the world’s most widely used mine detectors for both humanitarian and military purposes.

The set is suitable for fast demining in all climates and terrains, and has served as the standard detector for numerous armies, including the US Army (designated AN/PSS-12) and most NATO countries.
