Two members of the Croatian Air Force have dies in the crash of a Zlin training aircraft in the vicinity of the Zemunik Air Force base on May 7.

The aircraft, with tail number 403, crashed at around 16:00 hours local time, during a regular training flight.

This is the second fatal crash this year for the Croatian Air Force, after two pilots died in the crash of a Kiowa Warrior helicopter into the Adriatic Sea in January.

Croatia’s defense minister has already expressed his condolences to the families of the pilots. The defense ministry said it would hold a news conference later today.

Croatia had a total of five Czech-built 242 L aerobatic training aircraft prior to the accident.

Photos captured by locals and shared by a Croatian new outlet show the aftermath of the crash.
