ATLAS Elektronik UK (AEUK) has delivered the first of several new Sea-class workboats that will be replacing the Picket boats used by the Britannia Royal Naval College for officer cadet training.

AEUK is delivering the Sea-class boats under a broader program that will see the company deliver up to 38 modular, multipurpose workboats for a range of missions. These missions will include mine countermeasures, hydrographic research, diver support and personnel transport, among others.

Britannia Royal Naval College will be receiving up to eight of the 15-meter variants equipped with the officer training module.

Delivery of the first training boat follows deliveries of the autonomous mine counter measures vessel RNMB Harrier and survey vessel RNMB Hebe this year. The largest boat in the class, the 18-meter HMS Magpie, was delivered and commissioned in 2018.

AEUK is scheduled to complete the workboat deliveries by 2021.
