Two pilots have ejected from a Royal Navy Hawk T1 trainer aircraft from 736 Naval Air Squadron, which crashed during a flight from RNAS Culdrose.

Police and emergency services responded to the incident on March 25. The aircraft crashed in the St Martins area in west Cornwall.

The pilots have been treated by ambulance at the scene and have be taken to hospital, according to the defense ministry. Their injuries are not currently thought to be life threatening or changing.

An investigation into the accident is already underway.

Responding to the news of the crash, ejection seats manufacturer Martin-Baker said this was the first Royal Navy ejection in 18 years with the last being an ejection back in 2003.
