Raytheon ELCAN Optical Technologies recently received a contract for the delivery of its Specter DR dual field-of-view sights to the Danish Armed Forces.

The selected combat optic, contracted through the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA), provides both close quarters and precision down-range fire capability in a single optic, enabling an optimal situational awareness and low-light performance for the troops.

Canada-based Raytheon ELCAN Optical Technologies will deliver the sights in both 1-4x and 1.5-6x magnifications for rifles and machine guns. Deliveries will start in the first quarter of 2021.

NSPA provides acquisition and life cycle support to NATO nations through the Night Vision and Optoelectronics (NVO) Support Partnership, which currently comprises Luxembourg, Denmark, Greece and The Netherlands.

The expression “NVO” embraces a wide variety of products: stand-alone, integrated or networked thermal imaging, image intensifying, optical and laser systems used for observation, surveillance, target acquisition, aim, location or target designation including their aiming platform or control system, as well as related accessories and support equipment.
