Crew killed in US Navy Texan II trainer aircraft crash

A US Navy T-6B Texan II aircraft flying out of Naval Air Station Whiting Field crashed in Foley, Alabama, at approximately 5 pm CST October 23, the service has announced.

The navy said the aircrew did not survive the crash, adding that the names of the deceased would not be released until 24 hours after the next-of-kin notification.

Local reports say the Texan II crashed in a residential neighborhood near the Gulf Coast, however, the navy said it was not aware of any civilian casualties this time.

The service added that the incident was under investigation.
